Al and I are both self-employed and we don't have health insurance. We had it for a while and we gave it up because we were going into debt to pay for it and it was only major medical coverage. If I had had a crystal ball, of course, I wouldn't have let the coverage go, despite the fact that we were buying it through a credit card each month.
We have an appointment next Tuesday to apply for Carelink. Al should qualify and if so, this will allow him to be treated at the Cancer Treatment and Research Center. They didn't even want to schedule an appointment with him when they found out he had no insurance.
